Creativity in our classrooms and students was called into question this week after Newsweek published this story:
http://www.newsweek.com/2010/07/10/the-creativity-crisis.html
It’s been the topic of much discussion, including a discussion on NRP’s On Point with Tom Ashbrook.
Some people argue that technology is getting in the way, while others think that we don’t allow our students enough time to ruminate, listen to their own thoughts, and develop critical thinking. What are YOUR thoughts?

We love seeing and hearing students use our music in the classroom!

I happened upon this today and immediately thought how fun this would be to use in a classroom. Records sounds and loops them - allowing you to add and subtract sounds - and creates your own personal little a cappella band. Love it! -Taunia

We were introduced to Ed at Atlas-Hoops the other day, and we really love what they’re doing: empowering players to be their best on the basketball court AND in the classroom. We’re honored that our music is part of their academic program and mission!
From the Atlas-Hoops website:
Atlas-Hoops Academy Learning Center:
Our online curriculum is designed to help players get to the next level in the classroom. We are committed to reversing the current trend of youth focusing on basketball before academics. We will provide academic SAT/ACT assistance.
